| Lone to assume charge of Ministry within days | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 8: Peoples Conference (PC) supremo and MLA Handwara, Sajjad Gani Lone is likely to join the Ministry within one or two days.
According to highly placed sources, Lone will assume the charge of his Ministry within one or two days as on the persuasion of BJP leadership which has assured him of allotting another portfolio in addition to Social Welfare.
Sources said the BJP which has a pre poll alliance with Lone considers him as a family member and Party has assured all support to him. Sajjad Lone was appointed as Minister on BJP's quota and Party has also fully backed him .
Sources said Lone will also be given the Portfolio of Science and Technology which was with Sunil Sharma and the BJP leadership has given an assurance to PC chief in this regard and the party has taken up the issue with PDP also which has no objection to same.
Sources said that BJP will not like to lose Sajjad Lone whom it terms as an important ally. Sources said Lone who had resigned from council of ministers soon after taking the oath of office had resigned and the government has to issue a fresh notification in this regard.
Sources said after completing official formalities Lone will assume the office. The notification will be issued after the opening of darbar in Srinagar tomorrow and incase the same was issued by tomorrow, the PC leader will assume office the day after tomorrow or on Wednesday, sources added.
It may be recalled that recently during his visit to Jammu BJP Prabahri for the State and Party's National Vice president Avinash Rai Khanna said that Lone will assume office soon which he could not do earlier because he was busy with his urgent domestic affairs. |
