Soldier's mortal remains reach Kishtwar | GOC Chinar Corps condoles demise | | Asif Iqbal Naik Jammu, May 7: Amid wet eyes, the family members of a Territorial Army soldier Sepoy Kishori Lal resident of hamlet Dhar of Badhat village of Drabshala in Kishtwar District who died on Sunday along the Line of Control in Machhal Sector in frontier Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir during an anti infiltration operation to prevent the infiltration bid from across the border today reached at Kishtwar helipad where the family members along with army, civil administration, Police and members from civil society received his mortal remains with full military honor. As per the details available with "Early Times", the mortal remains of the deceased soldier arrived at Army's Kishtwar Helipad in Army Chopper at around 12 noon where senior army officers led by Brigadier Akshit Bajpaee Commandant 9 Sector Rashtriya Rifle along with Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Sandeep Kumar Wazir and Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Kishori Lal Sharma received the dead body of the martyred soldier. At Kishtwar helipad, the army gives full guard of honor during the wrath lying ceremony held at helipad itself, before his body was shifted to his native village Dhar in Badhat Drabshala of Kishtwar District. His body will be cremated at 11 am tomorrow with full military honor. Born on 1-04-1992 to a family of farmers, 24 year old Kishori Lal will be proudly remembered by his peers for his indomitable spirit, a ve-ry high camaraderie quotient, commitment towards duty and thrust of achieving higher goals. The deceased joined army about two years ago and was survived by mother, father and four sisters. As per army press statement, the soldier, Sepoy Kishori Lal slipped and fell into a deep nallah while he was involved in resuscitating the anti-infiltration fence which was damaged due to the heavy snow fall this year. "Speedy resuscitation of the anti-infiltration is undertaken every year soon after snow melts. This is vital to maintain a robust anti-infiltration posture and prevent infiltration of terrorists through the highly treacherous areas along the Line of Control. The soldier was immediately evacuated by helicopter to Army Base Hospital at Srinagar, however he succumbed to his injuries," army said added that the deceased was physically tough and was a natural choice to his team to undertake challenging tasks and he proved it last month when he was part of a detachment which repaired a critical portion of the fence in record time".. Paying tributes to the brave soldier, Lt Gen Satish Dua, GOC Chinar Corps saluted the courage and selflessness of Sepoy Kishori lal whose commitment to work can be gauged from the fact that he volunteered to supervise the work in the most difficult part of the terrain. He saluted the bereaved families and offering his condolences for their loss, The General Officer reaffirmed the Army's commitment towards looking after their honour and well being. |
