Early Times Report Kulgam. May 8: In a shocking incident, suspected militants have fled with four rifles and other ammunition from South Kashmir's Kulgam district last night. Reports said that the rifle snatchers, believed to be militants, on Sunday snatched four rifles from a police-post in Kulgam. The militants snatched 4 rifles along with six magazines in the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday a "minority police picket" in Adijan area of Kulgam. Cops were posted in Adijan area of the district to guard 9 Rajput Hindu families. Cops identified as Nazir Ahmad, Head Constable, Firdous Ahmad constable and two SPO's Nazir Ahmad, Mushtaq Ahmad were placed under suspension, a senior official conformed. Further more an FIR has been registered against the cops and later were arrested, he said. He said, "preliminary reports suggest that two SLRs and two INSAS rifles have been snatched by militants." |
