Jammu, May 8: A youth had a close shave when he jumped into the river Chenab allegedly to end his life in Akhnoor area on city outskirts of this winter capital of the state.
''One Kamal Kumar, resident of Kot Bhalwal, last evening jumped into the river from New Bridge Akhnoor,'' police here today said.
They said that the local divers nearby the river acted swiftly and rescued the youth from the shallow water near Brutta Mandi.
''The youth was immediately rushed to the Sub-District Hospital Akhnoor where his condition was stated to be stable,'' police added. |
