JK Ex-Services League holds annual meeting | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 8: Jammu and Kashmir Ex-Services League (JKESL) today held its Annual General Meeting under the Chairmanship of its President, Dogra Rattan Maj Gen Govedhan Singh Jamwal, AVSM, Ex MLC. The meeting was attended by members including District and Tehsil Presidents and 10 Veer Naries. The District Presidents projected various problems faced by them from the State Government and the civil Administration. These mostly related to difficulties in renewal of Driving and Gun licenses. The aged veterans also projected insensitive attitude of civil servants towards the senior citizen among the Veterans with not even the basic facilities to sit or get a sip of water. The JKESL President in his address appreciated and thanked the Government of India for the release of OROP. He expected that the anomalies in the OROP order and those of the 7th Pay Commission will be resolved soon. Other points included non implementation of 6% Reservation Policy, exorbitant penal VAT on CSD Canteens and non Revival of the Sainik Vanaspati Cooperative. Brig Anil Gupta, Chairman BJP Ex-Servicemen Cell and its Spokes Person assured support from the coalition government and asked ESM to gather together as one united entity. The meeting was also attended by Brig S S Sambyal, Vice President, Brig Raj Singh, Brig R L Sharma, Brig Manmohan Harjai, CEO, Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super Specialty Hospital who explained the facilities available in the Hospital, Col Virendra Kumar Sahi, VrC, Col S A Qureshi among many other officers. |
