Early Times Report
Srinagar, June 11: Acting on a report published in Early Times regarding allotment of luxury vehicles to certain ARTOs without following rules, the government has withdrawn the vehicles from them. It was reported that the state motor garages department has allotted luxury vehicles to certain ARTOs without following rules. As per the government rules, entitlement of government vehicles is limited to ministers and administrative secretaries. Commissioner Secretary Transport R. K Bhagat told early times that the Vehicles have been withdrawn from the ARTO's. "The Mortor Garage vehicles are limited to ministers and administrative secretaries. We have withdrawn the vehicles from these ARTO's," he said. It was reported that a senior officer of Motor Garage, without any government permission, had allotted three luxury vehicles -- JK01M/1663, JK01M/1661 and JK02H/9146 to ARTO, Budgam, ARTO, Pulwama, and ARTO, Srinagar, respectively. "I fail to understand that how the officer has allotted these vehicles to those who are not entitled for such facilities. Motor Garage vehicles are being misused repeatedly," sources had alleged while appealing the higher authorities to take a serious note of the matter. Meanwhile sources informed early times that there is still a continuous misuse of a government vehicle bearing registration No JK02AU/5538, meant for high dignitaries, with excessive fuel consumption of at least 7 lts of fuel a day. |
