Have separatists exhausted issues as they now target KPs?

Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 11: Have the separatists in the valley exhausted all other issues that they have started a campaign against resettlement of displaced Kashmiri Pandits in separate clusters or colonies? It seems so because they have emptied their guns while launching Jihad for liberation of Kashmir or for its incorporation with Pakistan.
Campaign in favour of grant of right of self-determination to the people of Jammu and Kashmir is no longer an issue because their campaign, launched during the last over 50 years, has lost its verve and vigour.
The regional commander of Hizbul Mujahideen, Burhan Wani, has threatened to attack those Kashmiri Pandits who get resettled in separate colonies. Has Burhan Wani completed his mission of liberating Kashmir from the occupation of India that he has tried to come into the limelight by keeping Pandits in the firing range of his guns ?Possibly Burhan Wani has realized that his mission to gain liberation from the occupation of India was quite impossible. Why not choose an easy target ? And for him the most easy target is a Kashmiri Pandit.
Separatists, ether belonging to the camp of hardliners or that of the moderates, shed tears over the possible wall of separation that separate clusters could result in. If they are really interested in allowing resettlement of displaced Pandits, who had left the valley in 1990 following threats from the militants and extremists and after several hundred Pandits fell to the bullets of separatists, they should let them resettle in separate clusters which Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, describes as transit camps. And after a year in the transit camps the Pandits will gradually be assisted in settling in their native villages.
Have Burhan Wani or Syed Ali Shah Geelani or Molvi Umar Farooq or Yasin Malik realized that since 80 per cent of Pandits who fled the valley later sold their houses and land for a song? Where shall these Pandits reside. In certain cases houses of Pandits were first ransacked and then torched. Where will such a category of Pandits reside? Others' houses and land have been forcibly occupied by their neighbours, where will this category of Pandits stay?
These are the issues that separatists and militants have to ponder over before they announce their campaign mode for preventing Pandits from seeking rehabilitation in the valley.
Separatists and militants need to be told that not more than two to five per cent of displaced families would accept the Government proposal on their resettlement. The remaining three lakh people were not willing to return. The Panun Kashmir leaders say Pandits are ready to return provided they get their demand for a Homeland fulfilled. This demand has neither the support of the successive state and central Governments nor of the separatists and nor of the Kashmir centric political leaders.
Under the circumstances created by separatists and militants like Burhan Wani possibilities of return of sizeable number of displaced families are quite bleak. Many among the displaced people believe that if they dare to return and stay in clusters, colonies or transit camps they could be easy target for people like Burhan who could set a new record on killing of innocent civilians.
In short the campaign against separate colonies or clusters being launched by separatists and militants indicates, beyond any doubt, that these extremists, fundamentalists and militants are opposed to the return of Kashmiri Pandits. If the Jihad, launched in 1988-89 resulted in what the Panun Kashmir leaders call ethnic cleansing, how could these very militants and extremists allow the community to be back?
The matter is closed. It is ultimately going to be a fight between transit camps and separatists. A fight between Burhanand emotionally bruised Pandits.
