SRINAGAR, June 11: A court here today issued non-bailable arrest warrants against harline separatist leaders Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Nayeem Ahmad Khan even as it granted bail to JKLF Chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik in case registered in 1987. "Let Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Nayeem Ahmad Khan be called afresh through non-bailable warrants," the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge TADA/POTA, S K Bhagat said and directed SSP Srinagar to execute the warrants. The court also issued a look out notice under section 512 of CrPC against absconders including Nazir Ahmad Bandy, Irshad Ahmad, Muhammad Rafiq Dar, Abdul Rehaman Bhat, Shakeel Ahmad Wani and Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat. The case (FIR 23 July FIR no 654 / 1987) was lodged at Sheergari Police Station here against the leaders for allegedly delivering inflammatory and anti-national speeches at Iqbal park here in 1987. Meanwhile, the court released on bail Yasin Malik and ordered his release in the open court. Yasin he was arrested by police on May 25 from his office Abi Guzar. He was sent to Srinagar central jail on May 28, after which he was granted bail and released from central jail Srinagar on June 3. He was later arrested in the 1987 case. |
