60 kg poppy straw, 5000 milligram recovered, three held | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, June 11: Police today achieved a major success and recovered 60 kg poppy straw from the possession of two persons along with 5000 milligram of heroin from the possession of a drug peddler at different place in separate incidents. Police spokesman said that under operation 'Sanjeevani' launched by SSP Jammu, Dr Sunil Gupta, police today recovered consignments of contraband. "On specific information a naka was established at Malik Market NHW by SHO Trikuta Nagar Inspector Kuldeep Khajuria assisted during which a truck bearing registration number JK03D-1578 was intercepted at the aforementioned naka point, police spokesperson said. "On through checking of the truck police party recovered 06 Bags of Poppy Straw which were concealed in the scrap loaded in the truck", said spokesman adding that the total weighting of the Poppy Straw is 60 Kg.Police arrested the occupants of vehicle on the spot who later have been identified as Zahoor Ahmed of District Pulwama and Kulwant Singh of Gura Pura District Pulwama.Accordingly a case under FIR No. 109/16 under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Trikuta Nagar. The catch was made by the poloice team under the active supervision of SDPO East Chandan Kohli and SP South Shahzad Salaria.Yet in similar incident police arrested one person Ramesh Kumar of Chack Bala Tehsil R S Pura presently staying at Dashmesh Nagar, Digiana Jammu alongwith 5000 milligrams (05gms) of Heroin. Police team of Police Station Satwari headed by Inspector Manjeet Singh at Dashmesh Nagar apprehended accused person and recovered Heroin from his possession.A case under FIR No. 108/2016 u/s 8/21/22 NDPS Act stands registered against the accused at Police Station Satwari and the investigation has been started. |
