| 948 SRO-43 cases pending in J&K | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, June 14: The government today said that 948 cases of SRO-43 were pending with it on account of relaxation required from the government to pay way for their appointment.
Replying to question, , Minister for Agriculture, who was answering in the Legislative Council on behalf of the Minister in charge GAD headed by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti informed that there are 29 cases of SRO-43 pending in GAD for last more than two years for identification of posts in other departments while 110 cases are pending with the Deputy Commissioners in Jammu Division and added that 66 appointments have been made under SRO-43 in respect of Kishtwar District during last three years.
In his supplementary question, MLC termed the issue as humanitarian issue and added that same could be looked through the prism of sympathetic consideration which needs to be cleared in time bound manner. He showed his serious concern over missing of names of seven Animal and Sheep Husbandry Department officials who died in tragic Sinthan top accident which include the death of District Officers. He said that the families of those died or killed due to accidents or any other chronic disease or died natural death or in militancy related incidents are suffering badly due to delay in making the appointment of the kith and kins of the deceased on compassionate ground. Kichloo said that these families lost their bread earners and the condition of many of these families is in pathetic condition which he cannot explain.
The minister agreed that the concern showed by MLC is genuine and added that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti had also issued directions for expediting the cases of SRO-43 and assured that the government will look into the issue for early clearance of the SRO-43 cases. In response to the demand of fixing of time frame or clearance of pending SRO-43 cases, the minister said that he cannot make any commitment on time frame and added that it depends on case to case and assured that same will be cleared in shortest possible time. He said that the data was received by him from GAD and the cases of seven employees of Animal and Sheep Husbandry department might be in the process.
The MLC said that Governor N N Vohra during Governor Rule issued directions for time bound appointments under SRO-43 and demanded similar directions from the government as well as people are facing lot of inconvenience due to delay in clearance of SRO-43 cases and added that people are regularly visiting civil secretariat, but no one was listening to them.
To this the minister once again said that the government is committed for speedy disposal of the SRO-43 cases.
As per government reply, 373 cases are pending in GAD, 180 cases in Home Department, 89 cases in PDD, 66 in Public Works, 63 cases of victims of militancy before DCs, 52 cases in forest department, 42 in PHE, I&F, 24 in School Education and 21 in I&C. |
