srinagar, June 14 :The Jammu and Kashmir government today announced monetary award of Rs 5 lakh to international player Chayan Singh from Jammu region.This was informed by Minister for Information Technology, Technical Education and Youth Services & Sports Imran Raza Ansari in the Legislative Assembly. "The government has given monetary award of Rs 5 lakh to international player Chayan Singh," he said.Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Speaker had on June 7 directed the government to give report about the implementation of earlier direction from the Chair to provide employment to Singh. The issue was raised in the Question Hour by Congress MLA from Inderwal, Jammu, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori on June 7, alleging that despite direction from the chair Chayan Singh, who won medals at national and international level, has not been provided employment by the government. The Speaker later directed the government to report about the action taken on the earlier directions from the chair to provide employment to Singh from Jammu since he has won various medals in National and International tournaments. |
