NC women wing criticizes government | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 14: National Conference Women Wing today criticized state government for its failure to address the demands of masses. In a meeting held under the chairmanship of its Provincial President Satwant Kaur Dogra at Koota in Hiranagar Tehsil.Addressing the gathering, Women Wing Chief Satwant Kaur Dogra flayed the government for its anti-people policies and said that the government has failed on all fronts to mitigate the problems of people. The unjustified and long power cuts across Jammu province are unacceptable and are a matter of shame for the government. It is shocking that the people are being subjected to torture in the scorching heat for no faults of theirs and the government appears unconcerned. Apart from power cuts, the entire Jammu province is facing heavy voltage fluctuations resulting in massive damage to electronic gadgets, she said. Women Wing President said that the price of crude oil had fallen 50% in the world markets for the last two years but the government instead of decreasing the petrol and diesel prices had increased the prices nearly 12 times in the last two years. She said this had led to an increase in the fares of public transport and the prices of essential commodities had gone through the roof and people were finding it difficult to buy them. The price of Dal has touched Rs.180 per kg today which is beyond the reach of poor. She appealed government for initiation of effective steps to control the surging prices of essential commodities. |
