RR conducts vocational training course | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, June 14: The Rashtriya Rifles Battalion at Talwara with an endeavour to promote skill development conducted a vocational cadre on `Dairy Farming' at Village Mari of district Reasi. The four weeks vocational training course being conducted by the Army in coordination with the Department of Animal Husbandry, Reasi for the unemployed youth of the region. The cadre will help 22 trainees learn better practices in Dairy Farming apart from encouraging them in setting up small scale entrepreneurship ventures including allied dairy businesses. Information on soft loans from NABARD and other Government agencies is also being given during the training. The training capsule is aimed to focus on theoretical and practical knowledge on breeding high yield cattle, knowledge in `Dairy Farm' management practices, animal healthcare, fodder production and clean milk production. In addition, the use of manure from animals as a good source of organic matter for improving soil fertility and crop yields is also being emphasised upon. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ansari, from the Department of Animal Husbandry said that `Dairy Farming' is an important source of subsidiary income to small/marginal farmers and agricultural labourers. The local populace of village Mari thanked the Army for encouraging positive measures in the field of education and self-employment for the youth of the region. |
