Jammu, June 14: Jammu and Kashmir Olympic Association today appealed Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti who is the president of JK Sports council to reconstitutes sports council, brought sports persons and sports knowing personalities to save sports in state. According to press release, General Secretary Dr Ashutosh Sharma demanded that constituted high level committee to monitor the ongoing projects worth crores to ascertain where the funds meant for sports are being spent and present condition of the various projects in hand. "There should be separate agency for bringing up new infrastructure and renovation of old one to enable the secretary to concentrate on coaching campus, selection trails, to monitor the work of coaches, equal distribution of coaches according to the requirement, personally monitor the preparations of teams in the various disciplines for participation in Senior, junior, sub- junior, north zone, youth Federation cup, National championships and national games organized under the auspices of Indian Olympic association and National Sports Federations", he said. They further said that the ongoing corruption in JK Sports Council and looting of state exchequer in the name of sports has been raised several eyebrows in the public and sports circle. |
