| Modi & Mukherjee seek African support for war against terror | | | The NDA Government led by Narendra Modi seems to have two
missions to be fulfilled .One is to awaken the world against the scourge of terrorism and the next is to increase foreign investment in India.Well Modi has already tasted success in both these aims.The US,Russia,and other European countries are with him in his fight against terror.These super nations have already condemned terrorism and Washington believes that India is its sincere and dependable friend in the ongoing war against terror.
Modi is planning to visit some African countries with the purpose of securing their support against India's mission liberating the world from the menace of terror and secondly he is trying to secure added African investment in India. Already he has succeeded in securing added investment from the US, Germany, France and Russia.He has been, for the last one month trying to seek support from various countries for India's bid to be a member of the NSG.China has been opposing it and Modi now believes that if India tries the Russian route for motivating China for its support India is sure to succeed in getting membership of the NSG
Even President,Pranab Mukherjee, who is now on a visit to a number of African countries has been trying to secure support from these countries for India's bid to free the world from the menace of terrorism.Terrorism is a scourge that knows no borders and it must be eradicated through the collective efforts of the civilised world, President Pranab Mukherjee has said while pledging India's support to Ghana for combating the menace.of terror Mukherjee, who is in Ghana on a two-day visit-the first by an Indian President-said India has been a victim of terrorism for three decades and shares Ghana's concern that it has become a global menace.In his address at the banquet hosted by Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama yesterday, Mukhe-rjee said, "It is a scourge and knows no borders; it has no ideology except the ideology of wanton destruction. It must be eradicated through the collective efforts of the civilised world. India is in solidarity with you as you confront this challenge.
"Mukherjee's visit is a part of India's outreach to Africa.While speaking quoted Mahatma Gandhi and recalled the bond shared between Ghana's first President Kwame Nkrumah and India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, both founding fathers of the Non-Aligned Movement, Mukherjee quoted a poem of Rabindranath Tagore titled 'Africa' in his address.
The world order demands global governance structures that are consistent with the new challenges that confront the global community. It is a serious anomaly that India, home to every sixth citizen of the world and Africa, a vibrant hub of the global economy, still remains out of UN Security Council,.And President Mukherjee like Modi pleaded for world support to India's bid for becoming a permanent member of the Security Council.. And it is expected that Modi will further strengthen India's bond with several African nations.And India has to secure support from various countries when its neighbor is trying to use its soil for exporting terror to India,including the state of Jammu and Kashmir.The growing power of IS,small call it ISIS is posing a threat to world peace and harmony. Its activists are spread all over thw world and the latest shooting in America's club in Florida,where more than 50 civilians were killed,and eqal number was injured is the latest instance of the ISIS plan. Hence Modi believes that war against ISIS cannot be fought by a single nation or by a group of nations. He has suggested that all the nations should join hands for waging war against terrorists, especially the ISIS. |
