Climbers Shivani, Aman selected for India Camp | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 22: Top climbers of the state and national medalsits, Shivani Charak and Aman Dogra have been selected for the India selection camp for the Asian Youth Championship to be held in Tehran from September 27 to October one by the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF), New Delhi, the apex body for adventure sports in India. Both Shivani Charak and Aman Dogra are reining National Champions in Speed climbing in girls and boys categories respectively. Besides Shivani had won a bronze medal in Bouldering in the national championship. Two other national climbers of J&K are also likely to be nominated by the IMF North Zone Committee for the selection camp, a handout issued by the J&K Mountaineering Association here today informed. Shivani and Aman Dogra, both students of Shining Star Academy, Muthi, Jammu, are among the 19 climbers, both boys and girls, selected by IMF for the selection camp from throughout the country. Whereas seven climbers have been invited from the South zone, four each have been selected from North and West zone and two each from East and North East zones. Besides Shivani and Aman, Adarsh Singh of Delhi and Shivpreet Pannu of Punjab are the other climbers from the North Zone. The selection camp shall be held at international standard Lead and Speed climbing walls and a bouldering Gym in the Indian Mountaineering Foundation complex, New Delhi from August 17 to August 22. |
