Anantnag polls: Victory of PDP-BJP, slap on separatists 6/22/2016 11:49:19 PM Early Times Report JAMMU, June 22: The PDP-BJP alliance has started to gain roots in the Valley, where the PDP is being targeted by the opposition-read NC and Congress- and the separatists alike for having alliance with the BJP. The by-poll in the Assembly elections, where Chief Minister is contesting, has registered about 33 percentage polling, which is slightly less than the last elections, but is even quite significant. " It's a significant polling percentage as it comes in the backdrop of us being targeted for having an alliance with the BJP and the bogey of RSS being generated by opposition to target us for having allied with a supposedly anti-Muslim party. The people seemed to seen through the designs of the political opponents and have started to reject them," said a senior PDP minister, considered a close aide of the CM Mehbooba Mufti. The NC, Congress supported by even separatists had made Anantnag polls as a contests between Muslims of the valley and the RSS. The RSS was being brought in the picture repeatedly by the opposition to target PDP and 'discredit' it for having allied with the 'anti-Muslim' party. Even the separatists, who were not so critical of the PDP, too joined the chorus and tried to instill fear among the voters. "The campaign of the opposition and separatists- designed by Pakistan- was not so much against the PDP but against the BJP as the corner stone of their campaign was to hit out at the RSS and instill fear. The fact the Mehbooba Mufti did manage to convince the people who came out in a good number suggest that people have reposed faith not only in the PDP president but have also slowly started to bust out the myth being manufactured about RSS., It's a victory for both the parties," said the minister.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
