No transfer melas but pick and choose for summer zone schools 6/23/2016 12:20:15 AM Early Times Report Jammu, June 22: The Directorate of School Education Jammu is not conducting much talked about transfer melas for summer zone schools of Jammu division as the same does not give free hand to the concerned authorities for adjustment of their blue eyed. According to the sources, the Director School Education has conveyed her reservations to the higher authorities on holding the transfer mela even as the Minister has not yet taken any decision over the same. While the general teachers, Masters and Lecturers were waiting for the transfer melas, the Directorate of School Education was busy in effecting transfers on pick and choose basis. During the last three months, scores of transfers were secretly ordered by a syndicate in the Directorate and majority of these transfers were pre-matured, on the pick and choose basis. Moreover, when some organizations of teachers tried to raise their voice against these arbitrary transfers, the Directorate resorted to victimization of these leaders of the unions. One such president of a union of teachers, who had exposed this transfer nexus during a press conference in Jammu, was shifted from his school within 24 hours and sent to a remote area notwithstanding the Assembly session going on. While the teacher unions are questioning the rationales of transfers, the Directorate is trying its best to convenience the higher authorities that transfer mela would trigger chaos. In support of their claim, this syndicate is quoting the example of Kishtwar transfer mela where everyone wanted to be posted in the town.
