Srinagar, June 22: A senior journalist who was on its way to Anantnag from Srinagar for covering today's Anantnag by polls has alleged that a police officer of the rank of Dy. SP not only misbehaved with him and used abusive language near Pampore- Pulwama crossing, but also uses his man to demage his vehicle. While talking to "Early Times" victim journalist narrates the horrific tale and act of senior traffic police officer. "I was travelling in my car , near Pampore; a police man stopped my car and started using abusive language without any reason, while I asked for the reason, he started kicking my car," said the journalist. He said that he had raised this issue with the top officials of the traffic department including IG police who had assured him that they will look into the matter. While terming the police behaviour as "hooliganism" he said "This is how they behave with media persons we can just imagine how they will behave with the general public." According to him, he also spoke with the DC Pulwama , who too assured him that "action will be taken against the erring police official." He said that if he had violated any law, the officer is entitled to seize or challan his vehicle, but damaging his vehicle and using abusive language against him is intolerable added that in case the department fails to initiate action against him; he will explore other legal option to seek justice for himself. |
