Jammu, June 22: A woman was today alleged to have been stabbed by her father-in-law and husband's elder brother at Shiva Colony, Bari Brahmana.
According to her statement given to police, Mushrat Bibi, wife of Sadiq Hussain of Shiva Colony, alleged that when she tried to stop her father-in-law from erecting poles in her field, he abused her and also threatened her of dire consequences. She avoided further altercation with her and returned home. However, while she was going home, her father-in-law and husband's elder brother blocked her way and allegedly attacked her with a sharp-edged weapon, inflicting serious injuries on her head and other parts of the body, police sources said, quoting her statement.
She was saved by locals who reached the spot after hearing her screams. Police have registered a case under sections 341, 323, 504 and 506 of RPC against the accused who were yet to be arrested. The woman was undergoing treatment at the GMCH here. |
