Army rescues two civilians

Ramban, June 22: In an accident NH1A, Territorial Army Unit 109 Inf Bn (TA) MARATHA LI based in Digdol saved two civilians near Magarkote (Milestone 169.9) on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, this morning.
According to officials a loaded truck bearing registration no. JK05E-8148 which was on the way from Jammu to Srinagar skidded near Magarkote from the road and fell around 100 feet deep into the gorge.
After getting information a team from 109 Inf Bn (TA) MARATHA LI based in Digdol reached the spot and extricated the grievously injured and administered first aid and evacuated the two injured persons.
The injured person identified as driver Mohd Farooq son of Shamas Din Sheikh resident of Finter Ballower district Kathua and conductor as Mehraj Din son of Imtiaz Khan resident of Rafiabad Chhachhama Baramulla.
The team shifted the injured persons to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Ramsoo and after giving them first aid they were referred to Sub District Hospital Banihal. A case under FIR No. 38/2016 u/s 279/337 RPC has been registered in this regard.
