Early Times Report Jammu, June 23: Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Jammu North, has been appointed inquiry officer to probe into the allegations of grabbing of State and Shamlat land at Gurha Brahmana, Domana, near here by Ex-SSP of Vigilance Organisation, Jammu (VOJ). The complaint in this regard was lodged against Dr Koushal Kumar Sharma, ex-SSP of VOJ, by Attar Singh, son of Ram Singh of Raipur Domana, with chief minister Mehbooba Mufti. The complaint was also forwarded bh him to the chief secretary, financial commissioner (revenue), principal secretary (Home), settlement Commissioner, DGP, registrar of Accountability Commission, Registrar of State Vigilance Commission and Divisional Commissioner, Jammu. According to the complainant, the SSP had allegedly encroached 4 kanals of state and shamlat land under khasra No 55 at Gurha Brahmana and kept it in the name of his wife, a lecturer in higher education department. He alleged that the SSP had also encroached the adjoining land of common path and fenced it and tehsildar settlement, Jammu, had issued its illegal fard intikhab. It was also alleged that nature of some portion of the land was Gair Mumkin Khud. The alleged manipulations in revenue records were made when the police officer was SDPO, the complainant alleged. Taking prompt cognizance of the complaint, settlement commissioner, J&K, vide his letter No CSLR/PS/533 of June 20 last directed regional director, survey and land records, Jammu, to submit a report within a week's time positively. The regional director, vide his letter No RDS &LR/J/16/125-26 of June 22 last, directed SDM, Jammu (North) to get the matter enquired by visiting the spot personally and seeking details of the land under physical possession alongwith map (dasti khaka). The SDM has been asked that the approved plan be also procured in order to reach the final conclusion. He was also asked to persue the relevant records and submit the enquiry report within three days as desired by the settlement commissioner. |
