HC stays DC's order to suspend Patwari | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 23: Taking cognizance of order issued by Deputy Commissioner Jammu on June 6 putting on hold the suspension is Patwari, High Court Jammu has stayed the operation of order seeking report of ADC Jammu on next date of hearing. Finding aggrieved over the decision of DC Jammu to keep his order dated 31-5-16 suspending Patwari Varun Dogra halqa Maralia in abeyance, the inhabitants of Maralia Panchyat through its Sarpanch Kishore Kumar Sharma knocked the doors of High Court Jammu and explained the circumstances which compelled DC to take hasty action to appease a group of parwaris under pressure of Patwar Association Jammu to accommodate suspended Patwari. The HC order reads " finding of SDM with regard to retired revenue official having been engaged for doing official work stood substantiated by the SDM and there has been not even a whisper in regard thereto in the order dated 6-6-16 and that in the circumstances keeping the order of suspension of Varun Dogra in abeyance while directing the ADC to enquire into the episode was not warranted" As such the order has been stayed. Early Times carried a story in its edition on 13-6-16 "Parwaris prevail upon Distt Admn, suspension of Patwari put on hold " which highlighted the circumstances which led to issuance of order dated 6-6-16 keeping the suspension order of Patwari issued by DC on 31-5-16 in abeyance and directing Patwari Varun Dogra to report to his original place of posting from where he was suspended from charges of engaging outsider to attend to his official work. |
