NC's sermon to Govt reveals its frustration | | | Raj Sandeep Early Times Report Jammu, June 23: The sermon of National Conference to the government by its leader to keep Hurriyats in good humour and engage them in talks speaks of its failure to do much on this front while in power. Taking a clue from press reports, a veteran politician of a party said that it is strange to learn the new pro-separatists tendency of National Conference to sympathise and take side with the former when the latter used different tone while remaining in power for years together who (separatists) too created every problems for the earlier democratic govts led by its supremo Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah. What they have done and what was their contribution to restrain the anti-Kashmiri and anti-national elements like Hurriyat leaders who have been a constant source of nuisance in the valley hindering the functioning of successive governments in the state, he questioned. Din Mohd, nationalist by faith, lashed at the appeasement policy of NC leaders saying that now when the incumbent dispensation in the state is trying to put hold on the lawlessness and hooliganism unleashed by Separatists gearing up their assigned agenda of disturbing peace in the valley, the National Conference leaders are coming forward to sprinkle oil in the fire suggesting government to talks with these hired agents of foreigners. Taking a dig at the ill conceived suggestion of its leader terming development of the State as second priority, an elite section of the society cautioned NC to desist from creating hurdles in the path of developmental plans of the government which can only bring overall peace and prosperity in the state. How can the government set aside the development activities in the state promised to public for the sake of couple of anti national elements, they said, adding that these few blood suckers of innocents Kashmiris cannot mend their attitude and stop following sinister designs whether to engage them in talks or not because their open agenda is to keep the trouble pot boiling in the valley under all circumstances. Lauding the action of government led by seasoned Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to take on separatists sternly, a retired police officer wishing not to be quoted said that NC is stooping to such a low ebb that it is has suddenly changed its stance and becoming a part of separatists' game plan to destabilize the state. He said that why NC is forgetting that it is only a political party and none else on which quite a number people have reposed faith to facilitate peace and development in the state which it could not adequately do during its several turns in power. What ails NC now to criticize present government which intends to do which NC could not do to contain the unbridled separatists, he asked. Dubbing the view of NC as anti people that separatists be engaged in parleys ,which is not the policy of centre government, and stop development of the state, the political analysts say that the agenda of NC is misleading and gets amply clear to create a situation where the NC can take political mileage detracking the government from the developmental path which may draw flak of the people of the State against present government in the long run. Giving sermon to disgruntled NC party, think tank of the society is of the opinion that instead of supporting the Separatists who are indulging into hoisting ISIS flags in Kashmir and shouting "Jeeve Jeeve Pakistan" in full public view, NC should reassert its credentials of being an established political party and join hands to appreciate like good opposition the sincere and people friendly efforts of the State govt to tackle these unwanted elements thriving in Kashmir who have become an eye sour for majority of people in the state taking law into their hands with impunity. |
