Jammu, June 23: Keeping in view of reports of sale of goods on exorbitant rates during ongoing holy month of Ramzan, Basantgarh conducted surprise visit. According to press release, Tehsildar Basantgarh S. Harjeet Singh along with Niab Tehsildar Roshan Lal and Sub Inspector A R Wani conducted surprise market checking in Basantgarh market. The team checked various shops in the market and sized polythene and warned the shopkeepers against the use of same. The shopkeepers were asked to display the rate list prominently in their shops and market cleanliness. The teams also check the rate list and quality of fruits, vegetables and other consumables items. A fine of Rs 4050 was realized from the violators of rate list, use of domestic cylinders for commercial purposes, selling rotten vegetables and fruits. The locals hail the effort of administration Basantgarh. |
