Early Times Report JAMMU, June 23: Yamaha Cygnus Ray-ZR scooter that was unveiled at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, has been finally launched in Jammu. Called to be the 'next-generation real boy's scooter', the Cygnus Ray-ZR is available in drum brake and disk brake versions. The Yamaha Cygnus Ray-ZR derives its power from a 113cc air-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve Blue Core engine. Mated to a CVT (continuously variable transmission) automatic gearbox, this engine develops a maximum power output of 7bhp and 8.1Nm of peak torque. Thanks to its lightweight body (103kg), the scooter is claimed to return 66kmpl of mileage. Some of the key features of the Cygnus Ray-ZR are - 21-litres under seat storage, tubeless tyres and all-new instrument cluster with better readability. With the introduction of the Cygnus Ray-ZR, the company now has a total of four scooters. Othe three are Cygnus Ray, Alpha and Fascino. Syed Ifaq, Managing Director, Royal Yamaha Jammu added, "Out of the total demand of two wheelers in India, the scooter segment is soaring with 30% contribution to the sales and we are looking at 10% market share for this year.
