| 2-wheeler lifters' gang busted, 15 vehicles recovered | | | | JAMMU, June 23: Police claim to have busted a gang of two-wheeler lifters with the arrest of its kingpin and recovered 15 vehicles at his instance. The alleged kingpin was arrested by police from the SMGS hospital, Shalamar Road, while he was allegedly trying to steal a scooty. He was identified as Kamalpreet Singh, son of Harbans Singh of Sia Chak, R S Pura. His sustained interrogation led police to the recovery of 15 vehicles he had stolen from different areas of the city, police sources said. He was alleged to have told his interrogators that apart from selling the stolen vehicles at cheaper prices, he also used to sell their spare parts. Before selling them, he also used to prepare their fake registration papers, sources alleged. Sources claimed that police had also rounded up one of his accomplices from a city area. |
