School damaged in Sept 2014 Rains, still awaits repair | | | Early Times Report Udhampur, June 23: Inclement weather conditions in September 2014 had caused massive damage to school buildings across Jammu, particularly in Udhampur and now after two year some schools still are awaiting due repairs as they are functioning in damaged structures. As a result, there is lack of space for many students in the district. And of such schools functioning in the damaged structures, the Government Primary School Duga Laid of village Lalli Tehsil Moungri of Zone Panchari still is functional in damaged structure since September 2014. According to reports the school is functioning in the damaged structure resulting a fear for security among students while students are also facing lack of space. According to official reports in Udhampur, the calamity had damaged 163 schools, 22 fully and 141 partially and this school is one amongst them. Local have urged the district administration to the intervene and pass due directions to education authorities to repair the damaged structure of the school so as to enhance the space for the students. |
