| Man held for allegedly killing wife | | | MS Nazki

Mendhar, July 1: Police claimed to have arrested a person for allegedly killing his wife in this town today, the police sources said.
Police sources said, the body of Sushma Devi w/o Rakesh Kumar r/o R S Pura Jammu at present Mendhar was found hanging on a tree near her rented house here today.
Locals on seeing the lady hanging immediately informed the police which rushed to police and took her husband under its custody besides shifting the body to the nearby hospital.
Sources said that the couple was putting up on a rented accommodation in the town for quite some time and Rakesh Kumar was working as carpenter on a furniture shop situated in the town.
Police sources said, "The couple hailing from R S Pura Jammu was residing in the house of Mohd Kabir at Gohlad on rental basis. Rakesh had estranged relations with his wife as per locals, they said quoting some locals of area. Police sources said that as per locals the Rakesh Kumar used to beat her wife now and then and even used to lock her in room. "it was alleged husband of deceased allegedly have killed her and hanged her body on a tree near to their house, sources said.
