Slow pace of construction work on Medana-Gagarkote road irks locals | | | Early Times Report POONCH, July 1: The construction of Medana to Gagarkote (Kalani) road was started four years ago but the slow pace of work has once again exposed the sluggish approach of the government with respect to developmental works. Due to lack of funds the earth cutting work of the road was stopped since long even though five months ago Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Surankote Choudhary Mohd Akram sanctioned funds from his Constituency Development Funds (CDF) for the earth cutting work. Locals alleged that the concerned department said that the earth cutting work of road is going at snail's pace. A meeting of locals under the chairmanship of Abbas Malik, a youth activist of Insaaf Movement, was held where the participants appealed to Deputy Commissioner Poonch to direct the concerned department to complete the work at the earliest. |
