VIJAYPUR, July 1: Martyr's Day (Shaheedi Divas) in the memory of Rifleman Rattan Chand of 12 JAK LI was observed at village Nandpur near here.
Rattan Chand had attained martyrdom during Operation Vijay at Kargil in 1999. The villagers, family members and surrounding people assembled at main chowk of Nandpur near the statue of Martyr Rattan Chand.
SDM Vijaypur Ravinder Sharma, who was chief guest on the occasion, laid wreath at the statue of martyr. Speaking on the occasion, SDM Sharma said that we should remember his martyrdom forever.
He said that martyr Rattan Chand is icon for the youth and they should follow up the his foot prints. |
