Manjit Singh expresses concern over electricity, water crises

VIJAYPUR, July 1: Former Minister and Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary, Manjit Singh today expressed concern over electricity and water crises in Vijaypur, amid skin scorching heat.
When the temperature is soaring above 40 degree Celsius, the PDD and PHE departments have miserably failed to provide adequate drinking water as well as electricity to the people.
Manjit Singh said this while speaking before the party workers during a monthly meeting here in Vijaypur. After listening to the grievances of various areas, former Minister said, the BJP which roared during election campaigns has been exposed with its anti-people policies in State as well as in Center.
He said that in Jammu division, where people voted BJP to power, has turned blind eyes towards their suffering, while the saffron party enjoying power.
The unscheduled power cuts and its impact on water supply has disrupted normal life of the people in the Vijaypur, he said, adding appealed the Government to look into the issue and resolve the issue as early as possible.
"They should not test patience of the people. Instead, the department and especially BJP should give focus towards the suffering of the people. People have not voted to power forever. They have again to face people after completing six years in Government," he reminded BJP about its duty.
Taking a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, senior Congress leader said, where is Rs 15 lakh, which the BJP had promised during parliamentary elections?
They should tell the people of the country who want to know the status of the promise, he further added. Manjit Singh said that the most of the promises which BJP made in State as well as in Center proved to be hollow.
"The prices of the essential commodities increased drastically. Poor people facing the brunt of price rise. Big business houses being pleased by the Modi Government," he said.
