KATRA, July 1: MAMTA-Health Institute for Mother &Child, a National Level Non-Government Organization under VIHAAN Project, organized a sensitization-cum-advocacy meeting with private practitioners at Hotel KC Residency on Notification and TB-HIV Coordination in collaboration with State TB Cell, Jammu. The purpose of the meeting was to sensitize private practitioners on the importance of TB cases notification and to engage them in strengthening TB-HIV coordination so that all the TB cases can be notified and registered with RNTCP and the HIV-TB co-infected and PLHIV cases can be referred and registered with Care and support centre (CSC) being run by JKSPYM organization with support and guidance from MAMTA organization. Somnath Singh, Team Leader, Vihaan (MAMTA) gave an overview about the organization (MAMTA) as a Non-Governmental Social Organization which has been working since 1990 in more than 18 states and running various Health programmes. Further, he shared the Basics of HIV and presented project Vihaan as an initiative of HIV/AIDS Alliance organization and NACO to improve the survival and quality of life of People Living with HIV (PLHIV). Dr Arvind Raina, STO, Jammu shared the overview and infrastructure of RNTCP (Revised National Tuberculosis Control Program). Besides this, he told the participants about the importance of TB case notification and also shared the Advisory issued by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. |
