Founder Principal GMC Dr Pathania receives Life Time Achievement Award Doctor's Day observed at GMC Jammu 7/1/2016 11:07:56 PM Early Times Report JAMMU, July 1: On the eve of National Doctor's Day, a function was organized to celebrate Doctor's Day at Government Medical College Jammu and all 12 ex principals of GMC Jammu were also facilitated including current Principal GMC Jammu and two nodal officer Doda and Kathua. Pertinent to mention here that the Doctor's Day is celebrated throughout the nation to pay tributes to legendary physician and the second Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy on his birth anniversary. He was not only a physician but a philanthropist and a political leader par excellence. Minister for Health & Medical, Education state was the Chief Guest of the event. Welcome address was presented by Dr. Seema Gupta. Life Time Achievement Award for service to GMC, Jammu was conferred upon Dr. N.S. Pathania, the Founder Principal of Govt. Medical College Jammu. On this occasion a presentation was made on the life and career of Dr. NS Pathania by Dr. Rakesh Bahl. A documentary on GMC Jammu was presented by Dr.Vishal Tandon. Congratulating the medical fraternity on the Doctor's Day, Minister for Health and Medical Education Bali Bhagat Friday said that this special day is an ideal opportunity to acknowledge the significant role doctors play in our lives. He said being a doctor is not merely a profession rather it is a commitment to serve mankind with highest level of skill and precision. The Minister was speaking at the maiden function organised at Government Medical College Jammu to mark the Doctor's Day celebrations.
