Bhaderwah, July 1: One day regional seminar on the topic "Protection of Trees and Human Health" organized by the Department of Botany of GDC Bhaderwah here today.
According to press release, on this occasion large number of students, prominent citizens and media persons attended the seminar. Prof. Z A Hashmi, Principal of the college presided over the function while Dr Javed Iqbal HOD Botany presented the inaugural key note address of the seminar.
Speaking on the occasion Prof. Z A Hashmi stressed on plantation and conservation of various species of trees for the sustainable development and maintenance of ecological balance. He highlighted the medicinal, ornamental and aesthetic value of the trees. He also congratulated the organizers and speakers for their valuable presentation in the seminar.
Nearly 15 speakers presented their papers in the seminar in which Ashiq Hussain and Manish Kumar secured first and second positions whereas Waqar, Sumaya, Kulbir Singh and Umar shared 3rd position. |
