Jammu, July 1: Residents of Ramdaasi Mohalla W- 5, Talab Khatikan Today held a protest outside a hotel in the locality alleging that it has been constructed illegally and is causing inconvenience to the residents of the locality.
Protesting residents claimed that they have been running from pillar to coast for the last one year complaining to the authorities about the illegal construction of the hotel in a residential area.
The residents further alleged that the hotel has become a den of illegal activities like drugs, gambling and even flesh trade.
Jugal Kishore, Chairman Mohalla Welfare Committee said that they have approached various authorities including DC Jammu but no action has been taken so far in this regard and hotel is functioning as usual
He further added that the residents of the area met the DC Jammu and apprised him of the situation. Among those who addressed the protestors were President Mohalla Committee Madan Gopal, Tony, Gen Sec Adarsh Kumar, Vice President Ajay Kumar, Secretary Nazmir, Santosh and Sunita. |
