| People rue erratic water supply, hold PHE responsible for mess | | |

POONCH, July 21: Alleging that the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department has failed to ensure regular water supply to the common masses of Poonch and surrounding areas, several people said that despite tall claims of the department one of the basic necessities for survival is still out of reach of the people. While speaking to Early Times people said that areas of Mandi, Fatapur, Purani Poonch and Chandak are facing acute water shortage but the PHE department has turned a blind eye to the problem.
One of the locals Mohd Rafiq said that PHE department is an utter failure as far as proper water supply is concerned. He alleged that local politicians have also ignored the hardships being faced by the common masses due to water shortage. The people appealed to Deputy Commissioner Poonch to intervene in the matter and direct the PHE department to find ways and means for proper water supply. |
