As Kashmir remains calm, separatists search for dead bodies | | | Early Times Report jammu, July 21: As the shutdown and curfew continued for 13th running day across Kashmir on Thursday separatists started searching for more dead bodies to keep the pot boiling. Sources told Early Times that no killings taking place during the past two days has "perturbed" the separatists and they are trying their best to instigate the people, who according to the sources, have given up and want normalcy to return. Insiders revealed that separatists extended the shutdown call in Kashmir till Monday and called for Anantnag chalo to flare up the situation. "As the calm is returning separatists are finding it hard to sustain the ongoing agitation, they are asking their henchmen to somehow orchestrate the stone pelting and street protests so that a few more people are killed to pro-long the ongoing unrest in Kashmir," said a source. Sources said on Thursday authorities imposed strict curfew in Kashmir to ensure that no untoward incident occurs during the relaxation in the shutdown given by the separatists from 2 PM onwards. "There were inputs that separatists had given the relaxation in the shutdown with a purpose so that stone-pelting and protests are orchestrated in different areas and security forces are provoked to open fire of people," sources claimed. They said during the past few days curfew has been in force in Kashmir but the people are moving around without any hindrance. "The only hindrance they are facing is from the miscreants who are attacking vehicles with stones and have erected barricades across the city. People are fed up and want to move out. Srinagar remaining calm has frustrated the separatists. It was only on Wednesday evening that city witnessed a few nocturnal protests but these died off within a few hours," sources added. A source said, "Authorities are keeping a strict vigil over the activities of the separatists, who despite being under house arrest are issuing fiery statements and are asking people to continue with the protests and hit the streets. Police have already arrested the so-called Chairman of JKLF, Yasin Malik, who is believed to have planned this entire agitation. After Malik's arrest, Hurriyat dove Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has been issuing the statements from his Nageen residence, while rest of the part is being handled by the close aides of Hurriyat hawk Syed Ali Shah Geelani from his Hyderpora residence." He said, "Government is mulling action against both Mirwaiz and Geelani so that they are unable to issue any more protest calendars and call for chalos." Asked about the steps being taken to contain the separatists, the source said, "A strategy has been devised and they would be taken care off soon. |
