CM to visit Delhi to apprise Centre about Kashmir situation | NC faces censure for boycotting crucial APM | | Ishtiyaq Ahmad Early Times Report Srinagar, July 21: The Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufit is visiting New Delhi apparently to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other centre leaders to apprise them about the prevailing situation in the state. Reliable sources told early times on Thursday that the chief minister, in next two three days will leave to New Delhi and is likely to Meet Prime Minister to apprise him about issues confronting the state at present especially in the Kashmir valley. Sources said that Mehbooba is also meeting the union Home Minister Rajnanth Singh and other top ministers in the central government. "The home minister had called Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and had wished to visit the valley to take on spot review of the Kashmir situation, but the chief minister asked him to wait as she is herself to visit New Dehli," sources said. Sources further said that the CM had no prior plan to visit New Dehli, but sudden scheduling of the tour was made with clear intentions to apprise Prime Minister and other central leadership directly about the Kashmir situation and the steps that need to be taken from the central government to bring peace in the valley. It may be mentioned that law and order in Kashmir valley remained disturbed since the killing of Hizub commander and civilians. The state government has been finding it hard to find a solution for the current unrest of valley. Meanwhile sources said that fresh directions from the union home minister and the Chief minister of the state has gone to all para-military forces and state police that no innocent civilians should be harmed in anyway and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) has to be followed strictly exercising maximum restraint. "No innocent should be harassed while dealing with the protesters. This has been conveyed to the DGP CRPF, DG Police and other heads of para-military and police forces," sources said It is to mention here that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had extended full support to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti in tackling ongoing unrest in the Kashmir valley. Modi had held comprehensive review of security situation, which has developed in the Kashmir valley after the killing of Burhan, leading to death of over 43 civilians and injuries to hundreds of others. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh had also assured CM all central assistance to restore calm in the Valley. Meanwhile Amid tight security arrangements, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday chaired an all-party meeting to review the volatile situation in the violence-hit Kashmir. Sources said that though the main opposition party, National Conference, did not participate in the meeting, the state Congress participated in the meeting. Sources said that the congress delegation was headed by PCC president GA Mir. CM had invited all political parties to discuss the law and order situation. Besides the Chief Minister, the ruling PDP was represented by Minister for R&B and Parliamentary Affairs Abdul Rehman Veeri, Education Minister Naeem Akhtar and Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Minister Zulfikar Ali. The BJP was represented by Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh, state unit president and MLA Sat Paul Sharma and two others.
