Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 21: To take stock of prevailing situation in the State, BJP national general secretary (Org) Ram Madhav is visiting Jammu tomorrow to have an interaction with senior party leaders, Core committee members, Party ministers separately and seek a feedback from them.
Sources said not satisfied with the role of party as well as its ministers in tackling the situation in the Valley, the Party High Command has asked Ram Madhav to personally visit the State and have at and on spot study of the situation take a feedback from the Partymen and also apprise the BJP Ministers of High Command's displeasure over their style of functioning.
Sources said ever since the formation of the coalition Government in the State last year, the Party High Command has not been satisfied with the performance of the BJP ministers in the State as instead of delivering they became centre of controversies and attracted criticism from general masses for being ineffective.
Sources said instead of working independently and asserting as equal partners in coalition the BJP ministers are behaving as second fiddle to PDP which has annoyed the Party High Command. Even the role of Party ministers has not been so assertive in containing the situation in the aftermath of Burhan Wani which has perturbed the Party High Command the most, sources added.
Sources said during the recent Core Committee meeting when members showed their displeasure over the government's role in tackling the situation soon after the killing of Wani giving separatists and Hurriyat enough chance in exploiting the situation to its advantage and motivating the people to resort to violence. However when this was pointed out to a senior minister of the party during the BJP's Core Committee meeting at Jammu recently he showed his total inefficiency saying that administration does not carry out their orders. This totally shows the dismal performance and in efficiency of BJP ministers who are unable to deliver despite getting a massive mandate from Jammu, sources said, adding the role of the ministers in coalition has been seriously viewed by the High Command which too has to face a humiliating situation from opposition parties especially Congress in tackling the Kashmir situation.
Sources said the eyes of BJP were also opened with the yesterday's speech of PDP senior leader and MP Muzaffar Hussian Baig in Lok Sabha where the firebrand not only turned tables on Congress by holding its follies right from 1948 responsible for present unrest in Valley but also bailed out BJP by terming it a secular and not a communal party as labeled by its detractors.
Baig not only defended his Party's alliance with BJP saying that who oppose it were themselves responsible for Kashmir turmoil. This thought provoking speech of PDP stalwart has forced the BJP High Command to be offensive and take on its opponents with full might in future. Sources said Madhav who will be in Jammu tomorrow will also ask the party ministers and leadership to be offensive on all issues and take a harsh line towards NC -Congress as was adopted by PDP leader in LS yesterday.
