Traders, industrialists express concern over Kashmir turmoil

Kathua, July 21: Expressing concerns over the ongoing turmoil in Kashmir valley, the Industry Association District Kathua today said that the Bandh called by separatists in valley has affected business community almost across the state including of District Kathua.
Members of association in a meeting here today raised voice and appealed J&K government to control the situation with immediate effect to secure the economy of the state.
Talking to media persons after the meeting, Jeet Baba President, Industry Association Kathua said, "Almost a fortnight has passed since complete bandh has been observed in Kashmir which is affecting the business in entire state. He said laborers, transporter, suppliers and all linked with business are facing financial crisis due to Bandh observed in Kashmir and will have its affect on the economy in long term.
Sandip Mittal, General Secretary of Association said business in both Kashmir and Jammu region got affected the due to present circumstances in Kashmir as large number of stocks/products has dumped in store houses. He said,"Government must take serious step to create conducive environment in Kashmir otherwise it will take toll of state's economy badly."
Mittal further appealed people to come forward and create a congenial atmosphere to strengthen the business and economy of the state which is possible through coordinated manner and only if the situation in Kashmir is brought under control.
Meanwhile Vinay Mahajan Spokesperson apprehended the worst if the things remain same for some more time as suppliers outside state are afraid of sending raw materials in J&K as industrialists as many have failed to clear pending payments due to ongoing crisis in valley.
Traders and industrialists jointly have appealed both union and state government to strengthen the industry in J&K which already has affected due to insurgency in 90's and is just pulling to come back to the track.
