Jammu, July 21: Prof. Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor Central University of Jammu, inaugurated Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) at Central University of Jammu , Bagla Campus. The capacity of STP is 120 Kilo litre per day (KLD) and is capable of treating Domestic sewage for the Parameter pH, Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Deman (COD), Total Suspended Solids (TSS), and Oil and Grease. The plant is based on Moving Bed Bioreactor (MBBR) technology where microbial culture will be used for the treatment of the sewerage and waste water. The treated water will be used for gardening and other daily requirement need of the University having a significant impact on water conservation measures. The STP will also bring down the daily requirement need of the pumping of Underground Water as the same treated water will be recirculated within the University premises. It is an another feather in the cap in the growth of the Central University of Jammu. Prof. Lokesh Verma,Prof.H.S. Sehgal, Executive Engineer R.P. Gupta, Dr.Pankaj Mehta, Dr. Bachha Babu, Dr. Govind along with the entire Technical Team of the service provider were present at the occasion. |
