Youth electrocuted by fallen Electric wire | PDD shrugs shoulders | | A B Sharma Early Times Report Reasi, July 26: A pal of gloom descended on a village Bluian,Tehsil Pouni in district Reasi when a 17 years old boy , out to graze his cattle in the meadow got in contact of a live wire that had fallen on the ground and was rendered almost handicapped. Tilak Raj, 17, s/o Munshi Ram of Bluian was out in the meadow to graze his animals when he skidded of a muddy protuberance in the field and got in contact of a live wire and fell unconscious. Police got into immediate action and removed unconscious Tilak to Primary Health Centre, Pouni where the doctors referred him to Government Medical College and hospital Jammu. The doctors attending upon the victim found that his one arm was totally rendered paralyzed while the other arm was also motionless. The doctors advised to get this arm amputated to save the life of Tilak. This sent a wave of resentment amongst the residents of the area who approached the PDD department to express their resentment and anguish at their negligence. The PDD officials coldly turned nelson's eye towards the accident and said that Tilak got paralyzed due to fall as there was no power in the fallen wire. It is alleged that immediately after the accident; the PDD officials swung into action and disconnected the power supply to save their skin. While the police and doctors attending upon the victim said that the boy had received grievous injury due to electric shock, the PDD officials denied thefact. Sources maintain that all the PDD officials including JEs, AEEs and other officers who are posted in district Resai have patronage of senior BJP Minister. "We do not care for the incident as it is none of our concern. And since there is no evidence that the accident occurred due to electric shock, nothing can happen to us ," said one of the PDD official to the source investigating the incident. |
