Kashmir unrest: No one talks about the pain of security forces | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 26: Much has been written and is being written about the alleged use of excessive force against those who are indulging in violence to create a situation in the Valley that would force New Delhi to quit Kashmir. An impression is being created that our security forces have unleashed a reign of barbarities on Kashmiri people. On the other hand, there is hardly any report that indicates the kind of environment our security forces are operating in the Valley and the kind of attacks they are facing. An impression is being created that security forces have resorted to indiscriminate firing in the Valley and the result has been that have suffered injuries. This is not a fact. The fact is different and the fact is that it is the security forces and JK policemen who have suffered more during all these days of turmoil and ongoing phase of violence. The fact of the matter is that the security forces have suffered more as compared to the anti-social elements and anti-nationals in Kashmir and this can be seen from the official figures, which were revealed by none other than Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in Srinagar on Sunday. The Home Minister said "2228 personnel of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, 1100 CRPF personnel and 2259 civilians have been injured in the violence in the aftermath of the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani". All this should call the bluff of the vested interests and establish that they have unleashed a misinformation campaign to tarnish the image of India and the security forces.
