Congress takes dig at Government's effort to control unrest in Kashmir | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, July 26: Congress party today staged huge protest demonstration followed by protest rally under the leaderships of Pankaj Dogra, District ( acting) president of Congress & Ex MLA Girdhari Lal Chalotra at Daylachak, 25 km here from Kathua. Congress pointed out allegedly passive efforts of state government to control unrest in Kashmir that affects not only Amarnath ji Yatra but also monetary of the state. Leaders torched effigy of state coalition government but SHO Hiarnagar snatched the effigy that gave fire to protesters. Pankaj Dogra alleged on state government to play with the devotional attitude of pilgrims to holy cave as the yatra was targeted in number of times due to failure of state government. He said that the security arrangement were not sufficient whereas no serious step was taken to control unrest in state. Dogra said, "government shelters stone throwers one side and demoralizes army men deployed in sensitive areas," and added that congress always stands against failure of the government and raises its voice in future too. Girdhari Lal Chalotra said people have right to protest against failure of state government especially fail to control unrest in Kashmir but government agencies are suppressing people violating democracy of the country. Chalotra said," Pakistan must not eye on Kashmir and try to reform his internal conditions." He said BJP used to stage protest against Congress in 2008 unrest but now keep quiet while in government. The protesters demanded dissolve of state government and imposition of Governor rule. Paramjeet singh Pamma, Pawan Kumar, Nittu Singh were also present and pointed out failure of government to control the fortnight long unrest. |
