Two wheelers defy directions to use 'helmets' 7/26/2016 11:25:21 PM Ashwani Early Times Report Udhampur, July 26: Two wheeler drivers continued to defy the district administration's order which recently issued instructions in regard to the wearing helmets while driving. Sources said, "DC Udhampur has issued an order stating no one shall drive two wheelers like bikes , scooty and etc without helmet in Udhampur district." "But people are not taking directions seriously despite knowing the significance of helmet for a driver yet are defying the directions courtesy lack of social/civic sense. Some locals said, "The irresponsible behaviour from two wheeler drivers on roads towards their safety is also encouraged by the lackadaisical approach from the concerning departments viz. transport ,traffic and police which have failed to enforce the mandatory directions for the use of helmets." Sham Lal , Arun Kumar, Amit Modi , Barat Choudhary and others told to Early Times that it's the responsibility of concerning departments to check any violation of rules on regular basis but they have failed to do so and people are encouraged to go without helmets.Locals also said that we urged to DC Udhampur to take up the issue with concerned departments so that people shall be made aware of their own security i.e to wear the helmets while driving.
