Work remains suspended in Jammu Courts for Day 2

Jammu, Aug 2: Work in all the Jammu Courts and High Court wing remained suspended for the second consecutive day today in protest against missing advocate, Raman Wazir under mysterious circumstances from Nagrota area on city outskirts.
Wazir mysteriously went missing on July 31 while his private car was found parked near Jagti area in Nagrota. However, all the courts suspended the work on the day two and demanded to trace out the whereabouts of the missing advocate. Jammu and Kashmir Bar Association has also filed petition in missing advocate's case and submitted a copy to the Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court. However, the work also remained suspended yesterday in all the Courts, Tribunals and J&K High Court. J&K High Court Bar Association has submitted a representation to the Chief Justice of J&K High Court Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar.
The Chief Justice while taking serious view of the matter directed the representation of Bar Association Jammu to be treated as Habeas Corpus petition. The First Puisne Judge Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar has also spoken to the Director General of Police J&K regarding the developments in the case. The Association suspended the work on account of mysterious disappearance of one of its members namely Raman Wazir from Nagrota. The Bar Association impressed upon the police authorities to expedite the search and find out the whereabouts of Advocate Raman Wazir.
Jammu Police in the meanwhile has constituted five-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) and working on nearly 10 leads to solve the mystery of Advocate Raman Wazir. ''We have constituted five-member SIT headed by Dy SP ranked officer and are also working on different leads to solve the mystery,'' Dr Sunil Gupta, Senior Superintendent of Police, Jammu here said. The SSP said that dog squads have also been pressed into service today and in a new experiment, the canines were made to smell the clothes of the missing person following which, they conducted recce in around one-kms area of Kamini Khud in Nagrota, just few meters short of the spot from where the advocate went missing and his vehicle was found parked.
The top cop said that leads like land dispute, CDRs (call detail records), dog squads, Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) teams, questioning of domestic helps, relatives, friends, search of personal belongings and car, are being worked out by the police team.
