Govt warned against forcing employees to join duties in Valley | KPs protest at Jantar Mantar | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 2: Hundreds of Kashmiri Pandits staged a protest demonstration at Jantar Mantar New Delhi against the failure of the Government to give protection to displaced Pandit employees appointed under PM package and other employees of the community serving in Kashmir Valley who were forced to flee from there due to the outbreak of violence after the killing of dreaded militant Burhan Wani. The protest was organized by All Party Migrant Coordination Committee (APMCC) headed by Vinod Pandit and it was led by Ravinder Raina general secretary of the organization and its Delhi unit head. A large number of KP activists including the representatives of various KP organizations participated in the protest and criticized the government for its failure in providing protection to the displaced employees serving in Valley who were putting up in various transit accommodations there since 2010. The protesting Pandit activists warned Government against coercing the package employees to join their duties in Valley saying that the ground situation in Kashmir was not conducive for the same. They demanded that these employees be adjusted in Jammu and not forced to return to Kashmir where situation has turned worst than that of 1990 and government has totally failed to provide security to these hapless employees who had volunteered to serve in Valley. Terming these migrant employees the victims of terrorism and anti national elements who are ruling roost in Kashmir Valley at present, the Pandit leaders said that these employees were harassed and tortured by the separatists and Pak agents who subjected their quarters and vehicles to stone pelting for days together after the killing of dreaded militants. The KP leaders said that the future of these employees was dark in Kashmir and they can't return till terrorism is weeded out from Valley completely with iron hands. They wanted that Pakistan be also conveyed a message in strong terms by asking it to keep its hands off the Kashmir or otherwise taught a lesson once for all. The Pandit leaders said Kashmir belongs to Pandits and India will not leave a single inch of the land of Kashmir how hard Pakistan and its agents in Valley may try. The protestors took a solemn pledge that the community will not allow any employee to return to Valley under prevailing circumstances and fight for their as well as Pandits rights vigorously now. Besides Ravinder Raina of APMCC, Kundan Kashmiri of KPC, Sunil Shakdhar a prominent KP leader and former president Kashmiri Samiti Delhi, (KSD), Vijay Raina president KSD, Utpal Kaul a well known scholar and a social activist were among others who addressed the demonstration. |
