Saahil Suhail Early Times Report Anantnag, Aug 2: A day after National Conference leader resigned and announced support to ongoing unrest; most of the leaders affiliated with mainstream political parties have abandoned residential homes and moved out of the district. Sources said that ruling People's Democratic Party, Bhartiya Janta Party, National Conference and Congress has issued advisory to its local cadre to move out of their respective districts if they feel insecure. Many such political leaders are camping in government houses. A senior National Conference leader told Early Times that its District President Anantnag has asked all the leaders including Constituency in-charges to move out to safer places. "Political leaders and activists who fear trouble were asked to move towards district headquarter or outside the district," he claimed. PDP District President, Advocate Javed refused to comment, however said that he has already moved to Srinagar. BJP Leader, who head State Muslim Morcha revealed that he has offered his residential quarter to his activists who fear trouble. "I am in touch with all my leaders," he said. Sources said that those who don't have accommodation at government colony Khanabal or elsewhere in secured zones are currently camping in Jammu, Ladakh, and Delhi. Meanwhile, AIP Leader, Adv Mujeed-ul-Rehman who contested By-Elections from Anantnag against Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, also resigned and announced support to ongoing unrest. |
