Cong activists, Bhagwati Nagar residents protest against CAPD' malfunctioning

Jammu, Aug 2: A strong demonstration was held by the inhabitants and the Congress activists of Ward no.14, Bhagwati Nagar under the leadership of Capt. M R Sharma Ward President and in the presence of Anil Chopra, President DCC Jammu to protest the apathetic approach of the CAPD administration.
They also expressed the concern over certain burning issues viz. irregular and inadequate ration supply in the area and also the hardships being faced by the people for not getting new ration cards issued and non availability of pensions for old aged, handicapped and widows.
People also expressed grave concern over Kashmir unrest and the misconduct of Amarnath Yatra by the Government. People raised Slogans against the BJP for its silence over the controversial statement of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, where she expressed sympathies with the terrorists and those involved in the anti-India activities.
Addressing the media the DCC General Secretary Vinay Sharma expressed deep anguish over inadequate and irregular ration supply and said that there are huge discrepancies in the preparation of new ration cards, the ration cards have added new features and classify people on the basis of their income, but consumers have been complaining of errors and discrepancies in them.
The common errors reported by consumers are incorrect names, non-factual details in the income data, clubbing lower income group people in the executive group and classifying children in the adult category.
Vinay Sharma brought to the notice of media that over 100 forms were submitted after making all the necessary corrections and taking required approvals from the civil administration but the poor people have been running from pillar to post but nobody in the administration is helping them in correcting the details on their ration cards and issuing their new Ration cards which forced these people to face hardships.
Congress activists also strongly condemned the policies of Government and warned that they will take their protest against the Government to the every nook and corner of the Jammu City until the basic problems of the people are not resolved.
Other Prominent persons who were present were J.L Kaul Block President, Janak Raj, Om Prakash, Sanjeev Sharma Secretary PCC, Som Raj Ward President, Sushil Sharma G.Secy DCC, Koushal Sharma Ward President, Gourav Chopra G.Secy DCC, Pardeep Singh Manhas, Sama Ram, Ashok Kumar, Jagdish Raj, Rampaul, Neelam Rajkumar, Shanti Devi and Smt. Vijay Laxshmi.
